Please tell me what you think. I really need your serious advice. On February 28, they are having open auditions in my part of town for the Biggest Loser. I really feel like I should maybe try, but on the other hand, it sounds so silly. At my age, to try out for reality tv, I normally make fun of that sort of thing.
I need your SERIOUS feedback.

I would so do it if they ever came to Canada
DO IT!!! I'm envious, it's a great opportunity and it would change you life for the better! What more could you ask for?!? Thousands of people try out for it, and if you are chosen it would be the chance of a life time! Go Girl!!!!!(I'm pushing you out the door ;p )
Do it. I would be on a reality show in a second. BUT I don't kids and family who rely on my for everything.
If you don't mind sharing EVERYTHING with the world, go for it. Even though I was an actress in my younger days, and love(d) being in front of a camera, there's no way on this earth that I'd do that now. I don't think too much of reality shows anyway (excuse me, survivor is about to start ... he he he he ... just teasing!). Vee
It can be a great opportunity. Just be careful - being dissapointed over 3 lbs weight loss in one week is probably not healthy! Besides, I'm with VGH. I wouldn't want to share quite that much with the world! But, if you don't mind it's a once in a lifetime opportunity! You'd be silly to not think about it!

If you're thinking about it then I say go for it! What's the worst that will happen? They'll ask you to be on the show, you'll think about it, and then make a decision. It's not like they'll ship you off to the ranch the minute you show up at the audition. Plus don't you know Amy from last season? Shoot her a message and see if she has any input or advice.
If you do end up getting cast we'll need to work out some kind of secret signal so you can give a shout out to all of us when we see you on TV. :)
I say go for it - you've got a great "hook" as an owner of an ice cream shop, trying to lose weight. But remember, you would have to go on NATIONAL TELEVISION in your sports bra and bike shorts...are you ready for that?
you can always try out. if they accept you, you can always turn it down. but you'll never know if you don't try.
I would jump at the chance...if I had care for my family while I was gone! :D I want to hear Jillian scream at me "ASS SMALLER!!!" Lol!
You are certainly not silly for thinking of this....most of us would consider it at least.
I'd say consider this....how would they 'spin' your personality? On every reality show there are those that are 'edited' to be the bitches (excuse my language) and those that are shown to be sweet and endearing. I am convinced that most of the personalities we see on TV is a result of editing. Do you want to risk being shown as someone you are not? Would it be worth it?
You would for sure learn about working out and how to manage food - and you would lose weight.
If you were accepted.
In the end, the others are right - even if you try out and are accepted, you can always back out.
If you've got the urge, try out! Like others have said, I'm not sure if I'd like sharing so much of me with the world, but I'd love the benefits of having a wonderful trainer work the crap out of me.
DO IT!!!
life is too short not to.
Miz.
I did an audition last summer. I'd do it again in an instant if I weren't having WLS.
Some words of advice:
Video yourself first. They're going to ask you to send in a CD. You can give it to them at the interview. Be sure you look natural on the video. Be at ease with the camera. They want people who can talk to the camera like you're talking to another person, and look like the camera isn't on them at all.
Interviews are done in groups. Be sure to be vivacious and engaging. Stand out in some way. A lot of people do T-shirts and signs, if you're going to do that, find a way for yours to be different.
As I said, I went to LA for an audition. I stood in line for hours. I met a hole lot of interesting people, and had the time of my life. It's not something I'd ever forget.
But no, I didn't get on the show.

My daughter said we didn't get in because we're nerds. I think it's because we LOOKED like we were talking to the camera.
Do it. What do you have to lose? And you can't win if you don't play. :)
And FB is right, if you're picked, you can always change your mind before being shipped off to the ranch.
I definitely think you should try it! That would be awesome! Once you are at the audition and you find out more information then you can make a more educated decision on whether or not it is something you will want to do. There is no harm in auditioning, if they don't accept you then at least you know you tried and you don't have to wonder what if anymore, and, if they do accept you, that's when you have to make the tough decision of whether or not you are going to commit to it. Good luck what ever you do!
I definitely think you should try! I think it would be a great opportunity! I know if I had the chance, I would definitely do it!
Do it.
Thanks everyone, my Husband and MIL are behind me 100% and I also know that it is a long shot, but something inside me is telling me to go, I almost went last year, but I never watched the show before, and also, I took FB's advice and msg'd Amy C, I will let you all know if she answers me back. I am thinking that I will do it, what do I have to lose?
DO IT!!!!!!!
I'll be your # 1 fan!
xoxo
Go for it, girl! :)
If you're feeling like you should, then you definitely should! Go with the gut feeling.
OMG!!! I know this may be late, but.... Go for it!!!! You know I will be sitting in front of my TV every Tuesday night, here in south Louisiana, cheering you on!!!
